Senior Scientist Metabolic Diseases
Regulus Therapeutics Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company leading the discovery and development of innovative new medicines based on microRNAs. Regulus is advancing microRNA therapeutics in several areas including hepatitis C infection, cardiovascular disease, fibrosis, oncology, immuno-inflammatory diseases, and metabolic diseases. In June 2010, sanofi-aventis and Regulus Therapeutics entered into the largest strategic alliance to-date on microRNA therapeutics.

Requirements
Description
The successful candidate will have considerable expertise in metabolism and/or adipose tissue biology and will be expected to spend the majority of his/her time working in the lab. He/she should have experience working with in vivo models of metabolic disease. He/she will be working closely with a small team of scientists involved in cutting-edge research to develop microRNA therapeutics for metabolic diseases. He/she must be self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and scientifically-stimulating environment.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline with at least 2 years post-doctoral training
- A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with physiological assessments of metabolic function and a good publication record
- Broad knowledge and expertise in metabolism and/or adipose tissue biology
- Attention to detail, excellent reasoning skills, and expertise in experimental design and data analysis, including statistical methods
- Independence, resourcefulness, and the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
