Senior Scientist Basic microRNA Mechanisms

We are seeking a Senior Scientist to investigate how microRNA-modulating drugs interact with RNAi machinery. The successful candidate will be experienced in analyzing the biochemistry of RNAi pathways.  He/she will also have broad knowledge of microRNAs and expertise in fundamental aspects of the RISC complex.  He/she will be working closely with a small team of scientists involved in cutting-edge research to develop microRNA therapeutics. He/she must be self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and scientifically-stimulating environment.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related discipline
  • Molecular Biology skills are essential
  • Experience with confocal microscopy is desirable
  • Industrial experience is a plus
  • Broad knowledge and expertise in fundamental RNAi biochemistry
  • A good publication record
  • Attention to detail, proficient reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis, statistical methods and interpretation
  • Independence, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work in a team  environment are essential
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • An ability to be productive and successful in a fast-paced environment
